ABOUT
Hj Syamsul Amri Abd Razak is an MIM – Certified Professional Coach and an HRD Corp Accredited Trainer as well as a certified Basic & Meta-Reflection NLP Practitioner. He also holds Certificate of Kepimpinan Adabi from Raja Zarith Sofiah Centre for Advanced Studies on Islam, Science, and Civilization (RZS-CASIS), UTM & Certificate in Islamic Business and Management, a joint-program by the world-renowned International Institute of Islamic Thought, IIIT and IIUM. He has also obtained TOT Certificate for Adab, Self Governance & Leadership from IIUM-CASIS Joint Collaboration Program.
Graduated with LLB (Hons) from IIUM and MBA from UKM, his valuable experience in corporate world is being demonstrated in strategic senior leadership positions that he held previously as General Manager for Business Development, Marketing & Liaison in Alam Sekitar Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned company of a public listed company, Progressive Impact Corporation Berhad.
Prior to this function, he was the Director of Business Development, UKM Pakarunding Sdn Bhd, a consulting firm owned by a public university Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). These BD and Sales & Marketing functions that he has held close to thirty (30) years for various industrial segments remain practical and relevance for industrial insights and experience.
Currently, he is the Principal Advisor for UKM-UnipeQ Sdn Bhd, a consulting, accredited lab and an HRD Corp-approved Training Provider (TP), a company owned by UKM Holdings of UKM. At the same time, being appointed as Associate Trainer for various leading Training Providers including the esteemed Putra Business School UPM, MTDC Academy & Yayasan Negeri Sembilan undertaking high impact customized modules.
He teaches at the Faculty of Economics & Management UKM as Part Time Lecturer for the Business Communication Course (local & international cohorts). He has also been involved as Module Developer & Lecturer for two (2) professional certifications namely Sijil Professional Kepimpinan & Integriti (SPKI), a professional certificate jointly offered by UKM & the national Institut Integriti Malaysia (IIM) as well Certified Professional Leader (CPL) awarded by UiTM in collaboration with a leading Training Provider. These professional certifications have already completed its 2nd and 8th Cohorts respectively. In addition, for the CPL, his main modules are Coaching & Mentoring for Leaders.
Khazanah Nasional Berhad, the Government sovereign wealth has also appointed Hj Syamsul as its Executive Coach commencing June 2024.
Among those senior officials who have obtained his coaching session was one of the Directors of Khazanah itself and a Chief Financial Officer of a reputable public university.
In addition, Hj Syamsul is a professional member of Malaysia Institute of Management (MIM), Institute of Marketing Malaysia (IMM) and Malaysia Association of Professional Speakers (MAPS). He is also an active member of Persatuan Penulis Nasional Malaysia (PENA), a prominent writers & authors association established in 1961.
He also contributes yearly since 2022 as invited speaker for the Slot Motivasi Pagi aired on the national Radio IKIM where he talks about self-leadership, character building & networking. Hj Syamsul and the team have also developed modules and content for an E-Learning for a reputable Zakat Agency in the country as part main content for its learning platform.
Currently practiced as Lead Trainer & Coach under his own business, SABAR Training & Resources (NS0239563-M), Hj Syamsul has been involved in various Learning & Development programs as Speaker & Trainer for various agencies and corporations.
He was the Chairman for Resident Association for s3 Damai Impian Bandar Baru Bangi for four (4) years, an association registered under the Registrar of Society & former Chair for PIBG at Sekolah Akademi Bakat ABS.
He sits as a Member Board of Trustee for Yayasan Kebajikan ABS since Oct 2025 and currently, an active Community Fellow for Benevolent Malaysia, an NGO and a Volunteer with Islamic Relief Malaysia (IRM).
He has authored three books which have been previewed at many Book Review Sessions that include Universities, Ministries, Bank Negara Malaysia, JAKIM and The Malaysian Institute of Integrity. His first book on ‘The Art of Impactful Networking’ was launched during the KL International Book Fair 2023 (KLIBF) by the Director of National Book Council, Ministry of Education Malaysia.
His second book, ‘The Art of Self Leadership’ which was also listed as Best Seller during the 2024 KLIBF & Top 10 Popular Business Book Year 2025 by Publisher PTS was launched during the prestigious yearly Book Fair 2024. These books have already entered its 5th and 4th Reprint respectively.
His third book ‘From Network to Net Worth’ launched in May 2025 during KLIBF has also been previewed in various Book Review Sessions including at INTAN, UKM and Bank Negara Malaysia. The book has entered its 2nd reprint. His fourth book shall be launched during the KL International Book Fair in May 2026.
